This August, Eva will begin a one-month fellowship at the The Library Company of Philadelphia and the Historical Society of Pennsylvania to pursue research related to her dissertation on the Civil War marine painter Xanthus Smith. Eva will consult the LCP/HSP’s rich collections, which contain original documents related to the Smith family and period sources that illuminate Civil War era Philadelphia.
